The Check And Pop Chair

The Check And Pop Chair reads as a study in contrast, though the form itself stays very disciplined. The frame is straightforward and almost spare, built in pale wood with a lightness that keeps the wooden armchair open and architectural. Then the eye catches the orange side panels, which cut through the neutrality with a clean, deliberate hit of colour. The upholstery adds another layer entirely. Its small-scale patterned fabric brings texture and visual density, but because the shape is so contained, it never overwhelms the structure. The back, seat, wood, and colour blocks all sit in clear relation to one another, with nothing spilling beyond its line.
