Mudra Lamp Alpadam

The Mudra Lamp Alpadam forms the Alapadma mudra as an open brass hand, its curved fingers cupping a luminous crystal sphere. Cast in brass, the palm, knuckles and fingertips retain subtle surface variation that keeps the sculpted anatomy visible around the light. Mounted on the wall, the sconce light projects the crystal sphere forward while the fingers frame its lower curve. The Alapadma gesture, associated with a fully blossomed lotus, carries its symbolism through the spread hand rather than applied ornament. Referencing the expressive hand gestures of South Indian Chola bronzes, the design centres the illuminated crystal within the articulated brass fingers.
