Maahi Kool Bottle

The Maahi Kool Bottle rises in a tall, cylindrical terracotta form, narrowing through a rounded shoulder into a short neck capped with a turned wooden spin-top. Hand-thrown by artisans, the clay surface retains subtle tonal and textural variation from the making process. Drawing on the traditional Indian matka, the porous earthenware allows water to cool naturally through evaporation, giving the terracotta water bottle its functional connection to an established cooling practice without requiring electricity. The slender body keeps the vessel easy to place on a table or counter, while the wooden top introduces a precise material contrast at the neck.
